After enjoying considerable success in the world of motorsport, where he helped nurture the emerging stars of F1 Michael Schumacher and Heinz-Harald Frentzen, Peter Sauber guided his namesake team to Formula 1 in 1993. Since then, the team has established itself as a pillar of the grid, becoming race winners under the brief ownership of BMW, and developing a well-earned reputation not only for producing competitive cars, but also for developing young drivers. In recent seasons, they ran under the name Alfa Romeo, and in 2026 they will become the official Audi team, but since 2024 a new main sponsor has brought a new identity to the famous Swiss team.
